Building upon the success of our extremely popular RECCE LMG uppers, Our new RECCE LMG – L is finally here.

Based upon feed back, Customers wanted the RECCE LMGs to wield more closely to a Standard M16 with a Government Profiled barrel but not give up the ability to operate in the Auto-Rifleman role. So we looked into making our upper fill more of an infantry rifleman role but still be a viable auto-rifleman when the need arrises. This concept was re-enforced by many customers reporting they wanted their smaller units to basically all be able to flex into additional auto-rifleman duties to support their dedicated Auto-rifleman teammate. So to achieve this we designed a lighter HBAR profile. The LMG HBAR barrel is the majority of all weight in our orignal REECE LMG upper so this was the best place to start. The solution was our new “A6″ barrel, a .850″ straight profiled HBAR. Designed with several uses in mind, the A6 Barrel fits seamlessly into our RECCE LMG upper series as well as other uppers Red Right Hand will be producing and offering. The A6 barrel comes in 12 Ounces lighter than our LMG HBAR barrels, essentially taking nearly a full pound out of the RECCE LMGs. The new A6 weighs in at 2.8Lbs vs. the LMG HBAR at 3.4lbs.

Of course with this new barrel profile, we made a purpose built Heat Mitigation system, the GenII HMS. Our GenII HMS is just made for our new .850″ profile and seamlessly installs on the barrel with a one to one fitment. Also, with this new profile and HMS system, cooling is actually more efficient as the outer profile of the Heatsinks still comes out to an overall diameter of 1.2”. The barrel mass has been reduced but the HMS has been increased to make up for the barrel’s heating properties under high strings of fire. This HMS acts much more similar to the 14.5″ RECCE IARs rather than the heavier RECCE LMGs, which have more rapid cooling properties due to the barrel mass / heatsink ratio. Now the trade off in barrel weight reduction leads to a more wieldy Autorifle upper, but in prone less weight will allow more bounce on target during firing and have a larger cone of fire in comparison to the RECCE LMGs with the Heavier LMG HBARs. The Trade-off being you can run this upper more in the Infantry Role and employ it just like any normal M16. Weight is an Advantage in the dedicated role of Auto-rifleman but you can have the confidence you will not be damaging your upper with excess heat if you find yourself thrust into a temporary Auto-rifleman billet.

Still powered by the excellent Riflespeed Gas controls. End users have 12 Adjustment settings at the turn of the control knob, as well as multiple plunger options to endlessly dial in the RECCE LMG – L to any situation, weather, set up, suppressor ammo, etc. Duty grade, the Riflespeeds are the toughest and best Adjustable gas block on the market, and we have been a proud OEM of Riflespeed from the start.
